kish b ★★★★★ The End of Evangelion is an undeniable masterpiece and one of the most profound, haunting, and beautifully devastating works ever created in animation. Hideaki Anno takes the originally planned conclusion of the television series and transforms it into a cinematic experience of overwhelming power and emotional depth. Every frame is steeped in symbolism, exquisite artistry, and raw human pain. The animation remains breathtaking even decades later, with sequences like the Third Impact and the final moments on the beach etched forever into the viewer’s soul. The film confronts existential questions (loneliness, the longing for connection, the terror of truly seeing others and being seen) with a fearless honesty few works dare to approach. Shinji, Asuka, Rei, and Misato are pushed to their absolute breaking points, yet in their fragility they become more human, more real, and ultimately more moving than ever before. It is a challenging, sometimes harrowing experience, but one that rewards the viewer with a rare sense of catharsis and revelation. When the credits roll, you don’t feel merely entertained; you feel as though you’ve lived through something sacred. An essential, timeless achievement in cinema and the bravest, most perfect ending any story has ever received. Thank you, Hideaki Anno, for this irreplaceable gift.
