Karen M I love the relaxed script of this film, seems almost ad-lib at times. The characters are believable, flawed but endearing. Christmas, romance and other plots potter along nicely throughout to bring us all together, in the end, to the dinner table,..where, but alas, we wish we had a seat. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/13/22 Full Review Audience Member Excruciatingly slow. The acting was not great alot of the time. The storylines were painfully predictable. The last 60 seconds of the movie was moving and will stay with me for awhile...but I won't watch it again and wish I hadn't wasted my time watching it the first time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Very realistic! Ed burns perfect as older brother, acting was amazing, got caught up in the family story, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I think this is Ed Burns' best movie. As usual, he depicts and Irish-American family with insight and observant dialogue, but this one has more heartfelt emotion and difficult truths, including coming to terms with betrayal and loss. At the end, we don't know exactly what is in store for each character, but will probably root for most of them. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member With absolutely nobody famous this Netlix movie has a more interesting family dynamic and one that is infinitely more relatable than those in major Hollywood Christmas movies. I found that the characters were also less two dimensional too. A real surprise for such a low brow movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member So. Boring. And flat. And Connie Britton was given the absolute most 2-D role. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune Resentments, pregnancies, cancer, spousal abuse and the struggle of a recovering alcoholic all come and go on cue. Rated: 2/4 Dec 27, 2012 Full Review Connie Ogle Miami Herald These Fitzgeralds are loud, selfish and often maddening, but they're a loving group, and you wouldn't mind spending more time with them. Rated: 3/4 Dec 14, 2012 Full Review Andrew O'Hehir Salon.com Burns remains an agreeable presence throughout, and the emotions mostly ring true, even if the comic elements feel overly broad and individual episodes are hit-and-miss. Dec 12, 2012 Full Review MaryAnn Johanson Flick Filosopher [A]chingly lovely... so full of bittersweet melancholy and yet so fixedly hopeful without ever having to touch on the sentimental... Dec 20, 2012 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The ensemble cast is mostly agreeable, but the script eventually bogs down amid too many characters and too many contrivances. Dec 10, 2012 Full Review Susan Granger SSG Syndicate The dysfunctional silbling-squabbling delivers diluted holiday cheer. Rated: 6/10 Dec 8, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews
