Carlos I At this point I think we've all gotten some account of the wild goings-on at old Canon films, so this may seem like a fairly surface documentary about the whole rise and fall of that empire. But for anyone looking to get a small window into how nuts a movie studio it really was or if you're just interested in filmmaking and film history you may want to give this a spin. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/23 Full Review Audience Member The story of two Israeli cousins, Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus, who developed the most powerful independent film company in the world. Cannon Film, during its 1980's heyday produced gems such as Death Wish II, Exterminator 2, Ninja III: The Domination, Missing in Action, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, Lifeforce, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, American Ninja, Invasion U.S.A., Hard Rock Zombies, King Solomon's Mines, The Delta Force, Invaders from Mars, Firewalker, Masters of the Universe, Kickboxer, Cyborg, and many, many others. This documentary moves along pretty quickly and shares a lot of great information through many interviews and voice-overs detailing the cousins' 1970's rise 'til their 1990's fall. Interesting, even for those with just a passing interest in 1980's B film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Nowhere near as good as Electric Boogaloo The Untold Story of Cannon films in any way, it uses inferior quality clips, skips lots, focuses too much on the Israel years, and ignores a zillion movies. Hack job... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Laura Byko Pittsburgh Post-Gazette There's no weight to it. And that's fine and often very enjoyable, just like the mindless, trashy movies the Go-Go Boys devoted so much of their lives to. Rated: 3/4 May 26, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
