Glossoc C @Glosso Jul 18 Outrageously funny. Intentionally insulting to sensitive Americans. Poingant. Beautifully lit and painted sets (think Guillermo Del Toro working with a small budget). Loquacious drug traffickers who discuss their favorite philosophers. An incorruptible cop who does drugs recreationally and spends his day off with two prostitutes. One wickedly bizarre murder scene contaminated by a cop with a morbid sense of humor. A buddy cop movie for the ages. Great actors. Superb writing. It's all there. Suspend your American outlook and view the world from the perspective of the Irish. Allow yourself repeated belly laughs at the bizarre. The director John Michael McDonagh wrote and directed a work of pure genius with this hilariously twisted film. Brendan Gleeson at his absolute best. Don Cheadle playing the perfect straight guy. I've watched it six times and watched it again before writing this review. Buy it. Watch it when you're feeling down and want to laugh at our mortifying world. At first its tough to understand what they are saying and some of the jokes are likely missed because of it, but watchable if you know a little British slang. Don Cheadle was not as involved as I thought he would be, but when he was there the English accent was a breathe of fresh air and his character accounted for a good amount of the humor.
