Kathy L Hallmark actually put some time and effort into this movie and it shows. A great story with strong actors really helped -- even the supporting cast were terrific - it's a light hearted romance with a deeper presence that really portrays the absence of hope and normal holiday fare that alienated the LGBTQ community for so many years and we were quietly and effectively reminded of that -- but not preached to... Great chemistry with the leads -- i wanted to see their story continue! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/06/23 Full Review Jim B A warm and charming holiday movie. Great cast and especially great chemistry between the two male leads. As with most holiday movies the storyline is cliche but it's a pattern that works so we accept it. Jonathan Bennet served up a great performance as the self-focused but loveable uncle who is opening his heart in adorably clumsy ways. George Krissa is perfect as the stable and steady counterbalance. Who wouldn't fall for either of these beautiful men? Aside from a few moments where slapstick comedy didn't come off all that well or felt forced the film was among the most enjoyable I've seen in Hallmark's colossal array of Christmas movies. A big part of the enjoyment for me is simply the fact that Hallmark is beginning to include more real-world relationships in their films which makes their stories so much more relatable. I hope they will be making many more holiday films that represent the vast diversity of their viewers. Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Director Ali Liebert gives it all a light, bright touch and both leads are utterly charming. Rated: 3/4 Dec 21, 2022 Full Review Jodi Walker The Ringer There's some sticky stuff in there about just allowing characters to not want to have children, and not making that some character flaw they have to overcome…but the priority of The Holiday Sitter is to be a sweet love story between two hot men. Jan 3, 2023 Full Review Gary M. Kramer Philadelphia Gay News A charming Christmas movie for fans of the genre, “The Holiday Sitter” is as comforting as a cup of cocoa with extra marshmallows that provide a sugar rush. Dec 16, 2022 Full Review Brett White Decider The Holiday Sitter is a Christmas movie about the incredibly unique bond between gay men and their nieces and nephews — family members who have long stood in for children due to the hurdles facing gay couples or gay men looking to adopt.
