Emma Wolfe SpookyAstronauts I did think it was exciting in parts but to be completely honest there were parts that lacked and it was a little bit disjointed. Rated: 5/10 Jun 1, 2021 Full Review Frank Ochieng SF Crowsnest ...[an] eerie ambiance. Overall, The Inhabitants has not explored any new territory that one has not seen countless times before in slash-and-dash cinema. Nevertheless, this stark and resourceful vehicle works its challenging mundane, impish magic Rated: 3/4 Nov 10, 2018 Full Review Niall Browne Movies in Focus The Inhabitants is a genuinely creepy horror film that's infinitely much better than most genre films released on screens. Writer-directors Michael and Shawn Rasmussen have crafted a wonderful low budget fright-flick that really deserves to be seen. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage There's no attempt for twists, just a barebones, atmospherically tense ghost thriller moving at its own pace. Rated: C+ Feb 20, 2016 Full Review Kyle Mullin Under the Radar The Inhabitants would have been well-served by a few more fast-paced twists, along with some heavy dialogue trimming. Rated: 5/10 Nov 4, 2015 Full Review Daniel M. Kimmel North Shore Movies The [filmmakers] are too clever to think they're breaking new ground. Instead, they try to make it as polished as they can. Audience Member Two words: it's bad. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member too many dark shots and not enough chills, if any Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This is worse than some really bad film school student movie. The acting, the dialogue, the cliches. Like seriously who decided it was a good idea to have wolf howl and crows sound effects. Did they buy a horror movie samples CD for $1.99? It made me cringe and roll my eyes several times and then I fell asleep. How do these people find the money to create such a pile of steaming turds and call it a movie? Its an insult to turds. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Not scary, just tedious. I should have gone with my original instincts and stop watching it at the 43 minute mark when I was already bored. Instead I chose to stick it out until the predictable, cliched, ending. The movie gives new meaning to meandering. It just plods along at it's own pace dragging you along with it. There's really no story here other than a couple buys an old bed and breakfast that turns out to have it's own dark history, and is haunted. The movie doesn't invent any new scares, or chills, it just borrows the same boring things you've seen in every James Wan movie. One moment there's no ghost standing behind someone, the next moment there is, and darks shapes running in and out of frame, creeping doors...same old, same old, except it's not remotely scary. And what doesn't help is the music is so monotone throughout the whole movie. Imagine you dvd being on the menu screen and it keeps looping the same creepy music over and over, well that's what you get here through the whole movie. It's not a good movie, and I can't recommend it to anyone. Just find other ways to spend your time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is a bit on the low budget side, however it makes up for it with a great story with a killer plot, if your looking for a good ghost story this Halloween then this one's for you.
