Audience Member Powerful film about disintegration of a marriage. Excellent film. Unlike some other films with this subject, we get to see the good and fun times in the family, and connect to the family and the different members. And then, surprised by the turn it takes. Powerful performance esp. by Bruno Ganz and Lisa Harrow. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Between a 7/10 and 8/10., I like movies like this because I get to meet people whom it would be entertaining to know - at a certain distance. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad,but the ending was not the best Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A superficial and sometimes unrealistic look at relationships. I mean, if your husband is cheating on you with your very own sister, do you go out with him on a cheerful and jolly walk to discuss what may have been or what was? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Sister moves in, sisters fucks and steals husband, husband and sister moves out. I am surprised how things never get ugly. For me smashing up a toilet doesn't count. Anyway, Miranda Otto is damn young and delicious. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Very odd film that is surprisingly effective. The Australians have been producing high quality works for the last couple of decades now. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Edward Guthmann San Francisco Chronicle It's not Armstrong's best, and yet it's a pleasure to watch her tell a story through subtle details and interior moments. Rated: 3/4 Jan 11, 2023 Full Review Anthony Lane New Yorker This fluent, hopeful comedy (and it is a comedy, for all the encroachments of sadness) charts every shift in the emotional climate. Apr 6, 2020 Full Review Sheila Johnston Independent (UK) It's a low-key affair, whose refusal to spell out its points too loudly is commendable but also a little unsatisfying -- too many details never quite come into focus. Nov 13, 2017 Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine Scripted by Australian writer Helen Garner, Chez Nous purrs with fine-tuned emotional detail. Original writing, dead-on acting and arresting images combine to create a seamless intelligence.
