An allegorical tale woven from three compelling threads: a story overheard in a cafe, the life of the director's grandfather, and the hubris of King Lear. Beautifully acted, with an especially affecting performance by Miguel Ángel Solá as Abraham Bursztein. Certain audiences will no doubt find it treacly in places -- it was, for me, sometimes uncomfortably so -- but I was willing to look past this stylistic shortcoming to be a part of Abraham's journey as he faces the final chapter of his life.
