Audience Member An uneven set of 4 short films. Jeanne Moreau sang a song as an entre'acte which was dreadful. The opening story of the tramp at Christmas (adapted, as Renoir says in his intro, from Hans Christian Anderson) was touching and beautifully conveyed through Nini Formicolla's amazingly expressive face. I LOVED the opera about modern life and machines and the loves of a housewife. It could offend some modern sensibilities, but it worked on so many levels. I can't believe the Philip Glass didn't score it! And, finally, the story of the cuckold and the town was unsettling- the ending especially left me totally unnerved.
