Fernand Sardou
Fernand Sardou was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Sardou's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Fernandel drama "Le Fruit defendu" (1952), the Jacqueline Pagnol dramatic adaptation "Manon of the Spring" (1953) and "Rififi" (1954). His film career continued throughout the fifties and the sixties in productions like the drama "Marguerite de la Nuit" (1956) with Yves Montand, "The Wild Oat" (1956) and the Paul Meurisse dramatic comedy "Picnic On the Grass" (1960). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedy "Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez" (1964) with Louis De Funes and "Le Soldat Laforet" (1970). Sardou more recently acted in the Helene Dieudonne comedy "Les Grands Moyens" (1975). Sardou passed away in January 1976 at the age of 66.
