Populated with characters as unpleasant as its sleazy storyline, The Loft is uninhabitable for all but the least demanding erotic thriller fans.

Test T I watched this on DVD recently. The ideas aren't bad, and the locations and mystery/crime setup are ok as well. The problem for me was the hollow unlikable characters and weak plot. It's the kind of movie which superficially looks quite good on screen, but struggles to maintain the viewers interest when they pay attention to it. I frequently found my mind wandering as I struggled to maintain focus. It's just about watchable, but it falls way short of what I had expected. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Craig B Gee this is a bad movie. Look I knew it would be, but I was interested in seeing how a movie with a reasonable cast could be so bad (and I was intrigued with the ‘71% liked this film' on the Google page). So a decent cast but a terrible, stupid plot. If you are interested in seeing Aussie starlets Rachel Taylor and Isabel Lucas in their birthday suits, and just want a trashy flick requiring no brain power to pass the time for 1 hr and 40 minutes (and you're okay to give up that much of your life to this drivel), this is the movie for you. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/09/22 Full Review Audience Member While there's some hokey producing and directing, it sufficiently keeps you guessing and it kept me totally invested until the end. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member "The Loft" Im not sure how this happened but let me summarize: 1.Bad acting I was expecting better out of some of the cast members (you know who you are ) . 2. There is at least 3 giant holes in the plot. 3. Characters have no depth. If you want some background music while "chilling" go for it . Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked it, was a good watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This is easily the worst thriller movie ever. Shallow production, lackluster script, poor writing and outright offensive sex scenes make this one not good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Erotic thrillers are a time-tested genre, but this effort, scripted by Wesley Strick, is neither erotic nor thrilling. Feb 5, 2015 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times This new iteration proves such a dour hodgepodge of bad behavior, bald-faced misogyny and ping-ponging alliances, it's more alienating than alluring. Feb 5, 2015 Full Review Katie Rife AV Club The Loft is a film that can't decide what it wants. It's a male fantasy, and a cautionary tale. It's sleazy in concept, and timid in execution. It punishes its protagonists for their transgressions, then lets them off the hook. Rated: C- Feb 5, 2015 Full Review Amanda Greever The Daily Times (Tennessee) Unfortunately, its ridiculousness and the in-your-face sleaze factor doesn't leave the viewer feeling anything. Feb 1, 2019 Full Review Debbie Baldwin Ladue News This plot has more holes than a slice of baby Swiss. Rated: 4/10 Nov 1, 2018 Full Review Aaron Peterson The Hollywood Outsider While [The Loft] never quite achieves its loftier ambitions, it is intriguing enough to overcome its B-level trappings.
