Audience Member I thought this was an interesting piece of weed history. I didn't think this kind of stuff went down. It's hard to believe that people are still in jail for marijuana possession in some States. Government and science manipulating information and withholding facts is still happening. The more it changes, the more it stays the same. This film gets you thinking. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This film was really cool. The seventies vibe was great. The story was really interesting and the actors were all amazing. I like how the different stories and characters all came together. What a crazy time and place. Worth checking out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I am surprised that I never knew this fascinating Canadian story before seeing this film! Enjoyed it immensely. The music, the fashion, the period details... spot on. Felt like I was right back in high school again. But the real highlight was the talented cast of young ladies... they really made me care about them and what the experiment would do to them. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this! Interesting that this is based on a true story, very surreal. Acting was exceptional, so much talent here. Some funny parts, but lots of really emotional moments and stories that drew me in. The seventies made me want to wear some fringe and get high. Thumbs up! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The fact that the well-written script is actually based on a true story makes this movie even more intriguing and entertaining. The film truly captures the essence of the era with its catchy soundtrack, authentic wardrobe and overall look. The characters/actors are extremely likeable with obvious chemistry. Fun and highly recommended! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A very fascinating story! All the Ladies where had a great performance..The 1970's period felt really authentic. The music is a great list of kick ass classic rock gems and also added to the 70's vibe... Odie Henderson RogerEbert.com Hippie-swooning temptations aside, I remained tethered to The Marijuana Conspiracy thanks to the excellent performances by the actresses playing the main roles. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 20, 2021 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times "The Marijuana Conspiracy" is worse than inert: It's shallow and tone-deaf. Apr 20, 2021 Full Review Lisa Kennedy Variety A mildly buzzy hybrid that swings from serious to light and back again. Apr 20, 2021 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider The script and narrative falter, drifting into a sameness as flat as the boxes on the calendar Marissa checks off to mark the advance of the study's duration. Aug 20, 2021 Full Review Diane Pershing Malibu Times The film itself is only mildly interesting; however, as a history lesson about how mores have changed in the past 50 years and yet have not changed at all, it's worth watching... May 7, 2021 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said The attention to early seventies detail is terrific, music, set direction, wardrobe, and lexicon. Apr 23, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
