James E Watched it when I was a kid. Now it's a tradition to watch it for Halloweenor right before. My whole family likes it. Just wish the had better release it's hard to find we have it on VHS from TV when it aired forever ago and found poor quality dvd but still worth it. It's a classic if you ask me. And one of it's kind. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A made-for-tv Halloween movie that originally aired on November 1, 1985, this movie is cheesy and corny in a perfectly 1980s way, and is so much fun!!!! If you love Halloween, then this movie is a must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member 1985 TVM: Five teenagers sneak into a museum and steal some artifacts and clothes for Halloween pranks and costumes. They unwittingly open up a curse of the dead coming back to life, while reading a scroll in a graveyard. The ghouls run amok in the city, turning the citizens into vampires. One of the resurrected is a dead cheerleader who makes a bond with one of the teenagers. The two must put the artifacts back in synch again to reverse the curse, or the curse never leaves. OK movie, not boring. More of a horror comedy than a straight horror story. Liked the cute relationship between the nerdiest of the five teens and the dead cheerleader. The story from 300 years prior (leading to the curse) involved witches, not vampires. OK, go with it. Stars: Lee Montgomery, Jonna Lee, Shari Belafonte Harper, LeVar Burton, Peter DeLuise, and Dedee Pfieffer. Directed by Jack Bender. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A reminder of what Halloween used to be (pre 9/11). Miss the days where EVERY house on the block was decorated for Halloween, and schools had Halloween activities. While the movie probably doesn't hold up for today's youth, and most kids would rather sit staring at their phones while this plays on TV, people over 35 should thoroughly enjoy for the sake of nostalgia! Not scary, but a very cute story and excellent Halloween soundtrack! This movie is streamable on Amazon and YouTube. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A Halloween movie the family will enjoy Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Firstly, the movie. It is cheesy but fun. I am also pretty sure it was filmed in the Universal studio where the likes of The Monster Squad and Back to the Future were filmed. (Save the clock tower!!). It may have been a made for TV movie but it felt like a bigger budget theatrical movie for it's time. It has the 80's horror comedy charm mixed with 50's music charm. Similar to Back to the Future. A quick memory recap: Back in the late 80's this movie was shown on Cable TV (I'm from UK) and we managed to tape it onto VHS. I watched this movie religiously for a couple of years, especially around Halloween but then the VHS broke and we weren't able to watch it again as it didn't air again to my knowledge. Then thankfully Anchor Bay came through in 2000 and I purchased it. It was between 1989-ish until 2000 that I hadn't seen it so I watched with caution, thinking it might not hold up. But it did. I still loved it. Fast forward to 2017. I have 2 kids now and felt it was time to show them the movie. Not only did I still love it, both kids had a blast and loved it. After 32 years, this movie is still a huge hit in my house and hopefully will continue for years to come, especially around Halloween.
