Tired of big city life, Connie (Judy Morris) and Lex (Barry Otto) purchase a dilapidated old house on a farm in the countryside and move there with their young son. Connie, who has the better paying job, must commute several hours a day, while Lex fixes up their home and works the land. Feeling overburdened, they hire a young, unmarried pregnant woman named Geraldine (Victoria Longley) as a live-in nanny. The stresses of their new lifestyle lead to conflicts and accusations.
