Audience Member Along with Alice Guy, Louis Feuillade was a major director at the French studio Gaumont during the silent era. This short, which is similar to many Christmas pageants you might see at any Protestant church, was included on the DVD set for Feuillade's Fantomas serial. Based on the biographical special feature that was also included, it mainly serves to illustrate how Feuillade composed his scenes with depth. There is action happening in focus in the background and foreground. And according to other evidence this seems to be a filmmaking skill that he learned while watching Alice Guy work.
