Anton Bitel Sight & Sound the extraterrestrials themselves are never seen, leaving Joalland to focus instead on the humans below, caught in their own uncivil clash of hope and despair, enlightenment and bestiality. Jun 3, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Logan D After earth was invaded by alien machines that harvest its resources, humans strive to exist, which is hindered by the fact they can only go outside for 2 hours or the machines will detect them. Sarah and her blind brother are wondering where their father is when a soldier invades their house. The aliens are mainly used to place the charcters in a situation they normally wouldn't be. The director focuses on the emotional responses to the bleak situation and I'd say their responses are very British. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/24 Full Review mattias h Good, slow paced drama between humans trying to survive while Earth is being exploited by aliens Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Quote......is anybody there ! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review keith w An intelligent, lean, well produced, thoughtful, dystopian nightmare, movie and all the better for it. That this above average movie has not had a more fuller viewing, is surprising, but predictable when other more inferior movies are benefitting from misplaced marketing budgets! Good acting and a refreshingly believable script, makes this film more watchable than most. The insanity that humanity exhibits during times of extreme conditions and hardship, is amply manifested in this violent piece. Highly recommended. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Bleak low budget post apocalyptic film. It's well acted and tense. I liked it, but then I like bleak post apocalyptic films. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member If I could go back in time, I would watch anything else but The Quiet Hour. Dakota Blue Riichards character is being raped at the top of a staircase and even though there are 2 other guys within earshot of her downstairs, she doesn't scream or cry out for 'HELP!' Then while her rapist is being choked out, she doesn't have sense enough in her head to lower her hands from above her head even though they weren't tied up to anything! She was bound by the rapist's belt around her wrists but they weren't tied to anything above her head. A normal person would have lowered their arms down to cover their exposed brassiere. The film's editors should of mentioned both of these idiosyncrasies to the director or the writers if that was how it was written in the script. There are more but those were the two that troubled me the most. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
