The Rounders is one of those utterly relaxed comedies that make ideal entertainment because there's tender loving care every step of the way and no sweat. Go to Full Review

The movie has wonderful outdoor color photography, better than some done for bigger films. Ford and Fonda seem to be having fun in their non-heroic cowboy parts. It's not great, but it's different. Go to Full Review

As easy to watch as catching a Las Vegas stripper in her act, and you never mind too much that nothing much happens. Go to Full Review

02/21/2019 Hilarious western with two great old time actors. See more 05/22/2017 An entertaining movie with little real plot. See more 02/24/2017 Enjoyable modern-western of sorts despite the fact there's no big laughs in this comedy. See more 07/10/2016 161118: The Rounders is a fantastic film in its first half losing a bit of steam into over the second. With that, I'll focus on the positive. The Rounders plays like a Disney production and if it weren't for the drinking, cursing and women jokes, I'd think it was. There are some good laughs contained within this film and it was an absolute joy to watch Henry Fonda, Glenn Ford, Ed Buchanan and Chill Wills do their work. These were artists doing art, complimented by beautiful horseflesh; if you care about that sort of thing and I do. The "...if she wasn't so fat" story had me laughing out of the gate. Today, that scene would get criticized for being insensitive and no doubt liberals would use it as an excuse to riot. Ok, I'm getting a little overboard but my point is; The Rounders harkens back to what I consider better times. Weeks after the 2016 US Presidential Election, with violence still occurring on the streets, my timing in selecting this film couldn't be better. Long live Donald Trump and I look forward to seeing what he can do. Thank God for real men and women. Thank God for the continuing production of classic westerns that reflect simpler times, an era when real men existed and were embraced. See more 02/25/2014 an aging cowboys western. See more 11/24/2013 Amiable comedy western with no real story to speak of, but cowpokes Glenn Ford and Henry Fonda are charming and enough to hold your interest. Burt Kennedy directed and co-wrote the screenplay adaptation. It's pretty forgettable, but you could do a lot worse if you're in the mood for a light 60s western. See more Read all reviews
