dave s The Scarehouse is a pretty straightforward revenge flick. Two girls, fresh out of prison, seek some payback against their former sorority sisters who they feel were responsible for their incarceration. Lured into a ‘scarehouse' one by one, the victims are systematically slaughtered in a variety of equally bloody ways. The primary problem is the fact that all of the characters are unlikable, most notably the two killers, who seem to not understand that they probably deserved their jail sentence. Despite surprisingly decent performances from the two leads, the rest of it sucks. Awkward dialogue, choppy editing at times, a nonsensical story, bad sound mixing (some dialogue is drowned out by the score or background noise) and the worst soundtrack imaginable make the whole thing a bit of a rough ride. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •  Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/20 Full Review Audience Member It's a good concept for a movie. 2 sorority rushes get sent to prison for 2 years after they are pressured to partake in a sorority prank turned deadly and the girls who put them up to it get off without even a slap on the wrist. These two rushes get out of prison and begin killing the girls who got them sent there. Sounds good to me, but it could have been done better. The Scarehouse isn't a bad movie but it's nothing special. It's definitely worth watching once but I don't think I'm coming back for seconds. Here is just a quick brief on the plot: 2 girls named Corey Peters and Elaina Forrester uses Elainas house to create a scary haunted house (you know them typical haunted house cliche) for a Halloween party. Now they invite 6 girls who are branded as sluts and was a part of their sorority group. Each girl goes through series of different of tortures (I swear something like this has been done before). Basically will the girls get out alive. The Storyline: Basically its was muddled right from the beginning, I was not sure what the storyline was all about as it switches from the present to the past. The ending was pretty decent as I was not expecting it to turn all of the sudden but overall the storyline was not great. Characters: did not like any of them, it was generally the generic whores basically which was a shame, one of the girls was pretty trained in fighting but that was pretty much it. I feel like the characters needed more of a personality. Effects: I would say the effects was great, flashing lights when needed, the blood effects was good but my favorite scene which had pretty good effects is when Emily is tied down and being cut opened. I say majority of the effects was good. Overall: The main thing I love about the film was the torture scenes and the effects. Characters could of been a lot better and the storyline could of been better too. Final thoughts: Personally film was boring, not the greatest and poorly done. I give this film 2/10. I felt the emotions and fear of the characters and the dashes of comedy make it even better. The acting wasn't brilliant but it was still a really enjoyable movie!
