Sophie A @Crawdad666 4d I cannot believe anyone who considers themself a fan of film would ever give this movie more than 1 star. Some of the reviews I’ve read have been full of praise and that is ridiculous. Let me tell you: this film is awful. It’s the writing. Mostly. The opening conflict makes NO sense. Leaving the girlfriend character back at the cabin without any role to play until they get back at the end of the film is CRAZY. Then introducing 3-4 random characters who’s names we never learn and who’s motivations are unclear (like the main characters besides Jasmin) and the characters behaviours and death scenes all make no sense. It’s all just a lot of shouting and shooting for no reason and makes it confusing and hard to understand or care about. The only good things are the sound design and the night shots of the monster (the illusion is destroyed by the day shots). They did well with practical effects considering they clearly had a tiny budget. Other than that: this movie is a real stinker.
