02/24/2011 This Movie is made by Providence Productions who hasn't made many films; So I thought I would give them a try. My first question is what the heck happen to Karen Black,(Stared in over 188 movies and TV Series) the one time beautiful actress looked horrible in this movie and that was not because of special effects, she has just gotten 2 bag ugly, This movie was been review by others as being pretty bad, I myself don't think so, its a low budget horror film that is what it is. Some complain about the DVD Cover being misleading, my resolve is don't judge a book by its cover. Thought we never see a real Straun House, but a run down lab in the city, where a taxi driver convicted of assult goes into a experimental drug program. With a florescent yellow drug that makes your anger go away and you sweat florescent green. One or two almost nude scenes, The best special effects come 80 minutes into the movie and are excellent, the two headed man, the ripping off of the face, the popping eye ball. The ending left room for a sequel. 3 1/2 stars. See more 10/12/2009 to think it was meant ot have been a horror movie not once during the movie was i scared it wasnt really that good the acting wasnt that good either and the storyline could have been alot better and more complex than it was See more 03/10/2009 This is called "Nightmare Hostel" in the UK and I can think of 2 reasons why that is a misleading title. It's neither a nightmare (excpet to sit through) OR set anywhere NEAR a hostel. Even it's American name is wrong too (it's not set in a house either!) I'll be honest here, I'd set my standards low to start with, but even I was surprised at how bad this film is. It's rubbish. It's only saving grace is Denice Duff who is quite a stunner when the film lets her be, but thats it. Even at it's budget price (£2.75) it's a rip-off. Plus, I can't even take it back as Wollies have gone bust! See more 01/17/2009 I really dont know what the purpose of the film was...it was boring. the fact that there is actually some mutant people alive is just wrong. See more 09/11/2008 The film begins and we're immediately smacked with its low-budget charm; all wooden acting and stiff dialogue. It then picks up giving the vaguest hint that it might rise about its clearly low origins. With the exception of a capable performance or two and some amusing (if cheap) CGI effects, it never manages to do that.
