What Alfred Hitchcock did for birds the French director Just Philippot does for grasshoppers in this extravagantly eerie, rootedly practical horror film. Go to Full Review

The Swarm drags far too long, setting up its eventual ending, which compounds the film’s problems by delivering an ending that I can’t imagine anyone being satisfied with. Go to Full Review

This is a French horror movie with brilliant execution and a thoughtful message that's slightly marred by stale horror movie tropes and predictability. Go to Full Review

Fake N 10/27/2024 Just. Really boring See more Luis M. D 11/21/2023 Don't expect cheap scares. It's a rather dark and atmospheric thriller. Though the ending may be somehow predictable, the movie is very well acted and soberly done. And it feels very realistic (by most movie standards). See more London H @Artworks 04/24/2023 Super boring, with a story that just drags on See more Chet W 01/26/2023 It was odd and unbelievable, it held my interest only, and the ending was quick and left you wanting more See more jon s 05/26/2022 The Swarm isn't a creature feature so much as it's a slow burn psychological horror about the dangers of stubborn ego. It's tense and well-crafted, with good use of practical effects. The movie's somewhat hampered by the unsympathetic characterizations of the dumb prideful protagonist and her bratty entitled daughter: the audience is clearly supposed to care about their peril but I was rooting for them to get devoured. Otherwise it's well done all around. See more Read all reviews
