I will say, the trailer made the film seem like it would have more high octane action, but whats in the trailer in terms of action is in the movie and nothing more. But, the writing, acting and cinematography made up for it. My wife and I really enjoyed the film, so much I actually want to read the book now.

Not sure why theres a lack of promotion for this movie. I didnt even know it was coming out. I saw it tonight and Im glad I did because its an exceptional film. The whole cast did great. Peter Dink stood out and really nailed this roll.

Great performances, decent supporting cast. I didn't care for this, but it wasn't due to lack of talent. It was a bit too 'modern' in it's presentation, both in the obvious ways, but also think of 'Unforgiven' taken to extreme. Very nihilistic - I think a world like that would encourage more people to seek God, not go all Natural Born Killer.

Kind of like quirky movies that are off beat. But when the female African American character showed up with an afro halfway through the movie, that was it for me. The time period portrayed in the movie is 1910-1915. Can only suspend reality so much.
