Catherine Bray Guardian It’s probably somewhat too stately. But it is an odd, mostly compelling yarn, and acted with gusto and shot with real physical commitment to the wide open spaces and raw chill of the elements. Rated: 3/5 Apr 16, 2025 Full Review William Bibbiani TheWrap The Thicket is an awful story, in a great way. Sep 6, 2024 Full Review Rex Reed Observer Juliette Lewis steals the show in a bleak, action-heavy Western that lacks the depth to match its gritty visuals. Rated: 2/4 Sep 6, 2024 Full Review Christian Jones Starburst It’s a thought-provoking meditation on survival and integrity in a world teetering on the edge of collapse. Rated: 4/5 May 21, 2025 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine Fans of the rough, gritty end of the American western will have a ball with The Thicket. Rated: 8/10 Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media This Western probably could have used more space to dig a little further into some of its characters, but, even as-is, it's a gorgeous, rousing movie focused on two fascinatingly damaged souls. justin b I will say, the trailer made the film seem like it would have more high octane action, but whats in the trailer in terms of action is in the movie and nothing more. But, the writing, acting and cinematography made up for it. My wife and I really enjoyed the film, so much I actually want to read the book now. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Erin It was a really good movie. It had a really good plot and storyline. The actors and actresses did an excellent job. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/09/24 Full Review Joseph S So fantastic. Dinklage is awesome, of course, but not even the best part. Levon Hawke is a revelation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/24 Full Review Victor L Not sure why theres a lack of promotion for this movie. I didnt even know it was coming out. I saw it tonight and Im glad I did because its an exceptional film. The whole cast did great. Peter Dink stood out and really nailed this roll. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/24 Full Review Alan P Really disappointed having paid to watch this. There's some terrible miscasting, particuarly in the brother and sister. The characters aren't rounded out whatsoever, so there's no sense of loss or jeopody. There's some very strange edits away from violence (gunshots, etc). Juliette Lewis is chewing the scenary like you wouldn't believe. Motivations are totally unclear. The plot is quiet nonsensical. Honestly, I was hoping that the scenery would be something to look at, but it's just a lot of snow. Peter Dinklage isn't given much of a character to work with. An overall massive disappointment Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/17/25 Full Review Audience Member James Hetfield was great! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review Read all reviews
