DanTheMan 2 Paced akin to that of a funeral, Tiger Warsaw sees the loveable Patrick Swayze trapped in time as a 70s greaser coming home in a melodramatic tale of reconciliation. There is no other reason to seek this out outside of Swayze, who broods sentimentality throughout the movie with an unshakeable boyish charm, he's just been saddled with a truly terrible screenplay. Drifting drearily along until, with about 10 minutes to go, it ends in a rushed wrap, as though somebody suddenly realized that time was up. It's mainly just a series of encounters with no oomph or style while Amin Q. Chaudhri's direction leaves most of the film completely incomprehensible with poorly lit and uncomfortably long shots dominating the runtime. If I can give it any form of praise outside of its main star, some of the songs on the soundtrack do slap but, other than that, Tiger Warsaw is a fraught movie that lurches between trauma and tearjerker. Driving towards a predictable conclusion, carrying the dubious message that matrimonial bliss and domestic harmony is the ultimate aspiration. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Maybe, not the best Swayze movie, but this is definitely his best dramatic role! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Man returns home after 15 years away to mend fences with his family after an incident tore them apart. Decent, not great. Have always thought Swayze was pretty good though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Patrick Swayze plays a decent part, even if it is a little bit plain in places. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member More 2-for-$1 DVD insanity from the dollar store! OMG WACKY. Got this one instead of "Choices..." with Demi Moore because it looked noticeably more pathetic. The first thirty minutes aren't too bad, have good photography, and seem like they're leading to something, but once it's revealed that Tiger Warsaw became estranged from his family because he was caught jerking off while watching his sister change, I became deeply and severely disturbed. I also kept breaking out in laughter as the film became more and more ridiculous, finally leading to the dramatic conclusion where Swayze punches a wall and then makes up with his family as a result of...punching the wall. Way better than "Ghost," though. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Just awful. Kept expecting a gang of thugs to turn up an try to take over the town and for Swayze to jump into action and batter them into submission. Would have been a better film if it had!
