Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Time Stands Still is a sweet, small Hungarian film that comes surrounded by great praise, and is just a little too inconsequential to deserve it. Audience Member The story takes place in Budapest 1963. Two brothers left by their father, living with their mother and her phlegmatic boyfiend, try to get on in life in the period of communism, after the revolution when Coca Cola and Elvis barely reached the Hungarian youth. This one is a very good picture of this era, bittersweet and tough, I liked the special characters and the suitable intimate music.
