Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times It's a delight to see actors and directors who are attached to one memorable cult film or another talking about how much it means to them that audiences have connected with these outcast movies. Rated: 3/4 Apr 21, 2020 Full Review Drew Tinnin Dread Central This surface level documentary still delves deep enough to entertain with endless interviews, but some fans looking for more obscure, drive-in discoveries may not find enough new info. Rated: 3.5 Jul 30, 2020 Full Review Chad Byrnes L.A. Weekly Although Time Warp's subject matter is endlessly intriguing, intermittently the series stalls and sputters due to "talking-head" syndrome. Frankly, it would've benefited from digging a little deeper into the cult film ouvre. Rated: B- Jun 26, 2020 Full Review Diane Pershing Malibu Times ...an engaging, if somewhat repetitive, documentary featuring a bunch of talking heads and wonderful film clips from all those movies that drew crowds of fans... May 15, 2020 Full Review Edward Douglas The Weekend Warrior A great entry into cult movies I recommend whether you're already a fan of this movie subgenre or not. Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid While it's far from any kind of complex critical analysis, it does cover most of the bases. Plus it's great fun. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Brad P This surface level documentary still delves deep enough to entertain with endless interviews, but some fans looking for more obscure, drive-in discoveries may not find enough new info. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review dave s Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Classics of All-Time Volume 1: Midnight Madness is an interesting documentary about…well, the title says it all and more. With a panel featuring John Waters, Joe Dante, and the seemingly misplaced Illeana Douglas and Kevin Pollak, the film consists of interviews with directors, actors, critics and a wide variety of others with their views on the definition of cult film (which is never comfortably nailed down), as well as clips from a handful of wildly popular cinematic oddities. As would be expected, the usual suspects (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Eraserhead, etc.) make an appearance, as well as other films (The Big Lebowski, Point Break, etc.) that may or may not meet the criteria. While the talking heads sometime get a little tiresome, it's still a lot of fun and, like the films it documents, is never dull. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic documentary !! It includes so many of my favorites. I can't wait for the next installment !! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member So much fun for movies lovers. The people who made this understand what a cult is and by using tons of great scenes and interviews with great stars and directors (Rob Reiner, Pam Grier, Jeff Bridges, Fran Drescher, Michael McKean, John Waters and many more), you understand why such movies as "Freaks," "The Big Lebowski," and "Pink Flamingos" are such cult classics. There's a lot more in this chock-filled documentary and I can't wait for Parts 2 & 3 because horror is my favorite genre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A fascinating study of the nature of cult movies with insightful commentary by movie participants and critics, plus clips galore.
