Neil Genzlinger New York Times Some of Ms. Schaeffer's plot twists are easy to guess, but everyone's enjoyable to watch. Rated: 3.5/5 May 14, 2010 Full Review V.A. Musetto New York Post TiMER never rises above the level of a sitcom. All that's missing is the laugh track. Rated: 1/4 May 14, 2010 Full Review Stephen Garrett Time Out The lukewarm female talk occasionally grates and the men are portrayed as mind-numbingly simplistic, but on the whole this cyber-Cupid exercise is surprisingly affecting. Rated: 3/5 May 12, 2010 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Essentially the film critiques both U.S. post-puberty dating rituals, the rise of iPhone popularity, the ridiculousness of looking for love via online dating sites and apps, and our inability to do anything anymore without a money-back guarantee. Feb 14, 2025 Full Review Jas Keimig The Stranger (Seattle, WA) Timer's premise is fresh, making this earnest romcom a delightful watch. Dec 8, 2021 Full Review Shelagh Rowan-Legg That Shelf A romantic comedy (with a dash of science fiction) that will certainly appeal to single women, the film is very original in concept, if not so much in execution. Mark S The ending. Ugh. This gets two stars for being an enjoyable movie for 3/4 of it's running time. The ending literally undoes and ruins everything that comes before it. Wow. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review José G B I still don't know what the point of the movie was. Very deflating "so what?" ending. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/03/25 Full Review Sofia E Love this movie, it's so thought-provoking, a great type of science fiction that's a tiny bit futuristic but really "The present + 5 minutes." The premise of this movie stuck with me a really long time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/23/25 Full Review Jill C As other reviewers have said, the ending made me feel confused and I wondered why I watched all that and it ended so abruptly and opposite to the message of the rest of the film. The timer is an interesting concept, and the actors do a decent job. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/10/25 Full Review Toggo U This was the most perfect rom-com ever...until the very last scene, when the writing took an absolutely ridiculously turn and they turned a beautiful story into a sour, bitter mess. Don't waste your time on this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review Luke C A romantic comedy with a sci-fi concept?! Pretty brilliant actually. If someone remade this with Emily Blunt and Gosling, using the same script, it would make a half a billion dollars. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
