      Critics Consensus

Tower Heist is a true Brett Ratner joint: little brains to this caper, but it's fun fluff, exciting to watch, and showcases a welcome return to form for Eddie Murphy.

Georgan G Maybe not the funniest, but certainly the coolest heist comedy. Love the Robin Hood theme! Great cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Koi P Fun cast. Mildly entertaining. Lacks edge and fresh humor. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Gareth v A rather bland comedy. No one here, from the writers to the actors, have extended themselves, and as a result we're left with a movie you won't be rushing back to for a second viewing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/24 Full Review noah g one of the worst movies ive ever watched tbh Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/24 Full Review Anomili B I personally love this movie. It's a great cast Ben Stiller, Eddy Murphy, Matthew Broderick, Michael Pena, and Casey Affleck. Hmmm, so why do I love this movie? 1. it was filmed on location, so many movies today are filmed in a giant green screen, or way too much CGI. This movie gives a pretty good sense of how New York Feels or should I say "used to feel". Pre Covid… NY ain't it nowadays. 2. Where else can you see this all star cast together? 3. It's a fun movie, many of the critics on here gave this movie a low score because the "script" wasn't up to par but this is a Family Movie, I wasn't expecting a complex psychological heist. Overall this is a fun great movie. Lastly I am a very difficult person to please so my stamp of approval on this movie means a lot. So you ever want to see Ben Stiller running around in a comedic hyjinx movie. Check this out. Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Let's just get this off our chests right now: Tower Heist is not a great movie. Rated: C- Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association This action comedy's heart is in the right place, but its screenplay and direction are not. Rated: 2/4 Nov 14, 2016 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com The movie moves well, had plenty of bright spots and never bores, and by the time it was over I couldn't help but smile. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 27, 2012 Full Review Iván Kazi EscribiendoCine Staying true to his legacy, Brett Ratner delivers another comedy packed with action and physical humor. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 8/10 Aug 16, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review The actors are serviceable in their roles, the obvious standouts being Leoni’s charm and Alda’s capacity to fulfill a slippery-as-snot movie villain. Otherwise, everyone else seems like they’re on autopilot.
