Right in the midst of important changes in her life, Bree Osborne (Felicity Huffman) learns that she fathered a son, Toby (Kevin Zegers), 17 years ago. Bailing him out of jail in New York, Bree poses as a Christian missionary. The way that this film was done brought so many aspects of gender dysphoria and transexualism to light in a very poignant and powerfully "stealth" way. Felicity Huffman's performance has made an impact on society with this film.

I like this movie a lot but the main role should have gone to a transexual woman actor or male actor. I don't understand why they gave it to a female actress. I love Felicity Huffman but I just don't find the perfomance believable.

Synopsis
