This movie is a mess as well, but it is at least fun in the way it does it, kind of like the first three. The humor is on-point, the visuals are much better again, the music isn’t half-bad, and the feel of the movie returns to its roots. It is not anything groundbreaking, of course, but it does get back into that feeling the first few movies had, and I respect it for that. However, the movie is quite boring at the same time, and barely gets anywhere until the second act. But Mark Wahlberg is good in this one, Anthony Hopkins is absolutely great as usual, and I liked the robot butler, so not all is bad in this one. Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Audience Member This is probably my least favorite Transformers movie (that's right, even worse than Revenge of the Fallen) and this was the only Transformers movie I hadn't seen yet. Whose decision was it to make the Decepticons come across as comedic and foolish toward the beginning?? They're supposed to be the serious bad guys that are intimidating! Where did Megatron come from out of the blue again?? Why is he still around?? Plus, connecting the transformers to human history and making them exist for hundreds of years of it beforehand barely worked at all compared to the simple and more grounded plot of the original installment, even the 2 movies after that. Sure Optimus Prime had some cool moments and some of the apocalyptic stuff portrayed at the end was somewhat neat, plus the beautiful and sexy Laura Haddock, but I'm talking about very small things/small moments here. Plus that twist mid credits ending that made me roll my eyes? PLEASE!
