Interwoven stories demonstrate that some traditions are best not forgotten as the residents (Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, Dylan Baker) of a small town face real ghosts and goblins on Halloween. Tales of terror reveal the consequences of extinguishing a Jack-o-Lantern before midnight and a grumpy hermit's encounter with a sinister trick-or-treater.

There are a lot of tricks in this movie, and a lot of treats - that isn't just a cheesy Halloween reference, it's the visible intended design of this funny, weird, sometimes actually unsettling movie. Go to Full Review

I really enjoyed the story in Trick 'r Treat that features Rhonda, a clearly autistic girl. Go to Full Review

Trick ‘r Treat’s intercut stories undermine both its stylistic homage to EC comics and the viewer’s engagement in each story, but the film succeeds largely on the strength of its iconic and original villain - Sam, and a handful of suspenseful scenes. Go to Full Review

The seven stories told throughout the film are of varying quality and complexity, but the non-linear narrative structure keeps the audience engaged and never dwells on one story long enough to bore the audience. Go to Full Review

Not only are all of the segments campy and fun in their own right, the complete embrace of Halloween iconography and atmosphere makes this the seminal All Hallows' Eve anthology. Go to Full Review

Juandi Oct 25 This was my 2nd time watching this after 10 years. I’ll admit it wasn’t as great as I remembered it being but it’s still a good movie. Original concept & story. It’s worth a watch if you’ve never seen it. I’m looking forward to the confirmed sequel. See more moviexgoer 11/02/2022 This movie captures Halloween night like no other, before or since... So glad that Sam finally gets the big-screen release he has deserved all these years! Quinn Lord, only around 8 years of age when this was filmed, plays the diminutive Sam with such ferocity, precision, and abandon-- all at once! "Trick 'r Treat", needless to say, is now a part of the horror/holiday iconography for a very good reason. See more Richard K 10/24/2022 it's a classic you should watch every year just like Charlie Brown. See more Kat 10/23/2022 Great plot and lots of Halloween decorations in movie that created that Halloween feel See more Stacy 10/22/2022 Perfect Halloween movie. Great scares, not too much gore and a quirky story about the holiday. See more Ryan 10/21/2022 One of my favorite movies! Glad had a limited theater run. I would come back every year to see it in theaters. See more Read all reviews
