Uthaug is a confident entertainer-craftsman who sells the script’s occasionally groan-worthy clichés with humor and smart pacing. There’s plenty of visual stimulus, both scenic and fantastical. Go to Full Review

The characterisation is token, and the quip embellishment is weak. Norse mythology is an atypical starting point for monster movies, but deploying it as rotely as this, the film has little chance of standing out from the mockbuster wallpaper. Go to Full Review

‘Troll 2,’ a sequel to the crowd-pleasing 2022 Norwegian giant creature feature, doesn’t have nearly enough action, monster-related or otherwise, to justify its existence. Go to Full Review

With emotional and development arcs that are glossed over quickly, to a large lack of adventure, the relational aspects that should hold this story together don’t receive the backing necessary to invest us in the pursuit. Go to Full Review

Zachary Jacob S 1d It has some really cool moments! But the rest is pretty underwhelming. I personally didn't have a great time with this movie. See more Marc D @Medic50291 1d It’s one of those movies where the story seems to rely on the worst traits of the characters, this method makes for lazy storytelling and makes the characters completely unlikeable. See more John S 2d slightly worse than the original See more Smart A @Smartasian 4d Brutally bad movie. The first one suffered from many of the same issues but this takes it to all new levels. The characters are insufferable. Incredibly obtuse, acting irrationally, and unrealistically. Just sloppy writing from people with no sense of logic. The acting is painful - cheesy from all, but the main character spends all her time looking on with a dumbfounded bitter look - no matter what. Special effects are fine, if you are a dullard you might be entertained - but if you are, some flashing lights on the wall would have been just as adequate. See more Jeffrey P 4d So, I was thinking this was a sequel to Troll Hunter, it’s not and that explains why the recap didn’t look familiar and why this was disappointing. I’m not going to be too critical but it was basically a better quality SyFy channel movie with a generic story and subpar dialogue and acting. See more Read all reviews
