Trouble with the Curve doesn't really do anything unexpected. The plot is a line drive down the middle of the field. I was impressed by Amy Adams, though. She goes toe-to-toe with the curmudgeonly Clint Eastwood in this movie. You believe they could be father & daughter. However, the weak hitter here is Justin Timberlake. Every time he's in a scene, the batting average dropped. And then this drama almost becomes cartoonish in the end, with cheesy lines and mustache-twirling villains. It isn't one of the great baseball films of all time, but Trouble with the Curve manages to make it across the plate.
