True History of the Kelly Gang is technically marvelous, and it boasts a phenomenal cast, who all offer amazing performances. With a slow pace and an overall lack of emotional attachment to the characters, I struggled to feel invested.

Well acted, certainly, but this so-called 'post modernist' approach does the story no justice, while those scenes filmed with a hand-held camera do not contribute anything positive to an otherwise overlong film. The story of the Ned Kelly gang has seen better previous adaptations.

I think aspects of this film had a lot of potential and as a film lover it’s something really interesting and unique to watch, but it’s slow… and maybe there’s lots of scenes that could of been cut a little shorter to make it more watchable for more people because there’s some really iconic visuals in this film, the most iconic (personally) being the stretching before the fight scene ( George Mackay ) it’s so so cool and punk. The film does lean into a punk vibe which makes for some really beautiful scenes which I’m so happy I witnessed but gutted that anyone I try to show this move to is over in within the first 10 mins because it’s to slowwww, it’s so frustrating! But at the end of the day if you have the patience it’s a grate film with some beautiful scenes in it. As an artist it’s very inspiring and a strong vibe, your family just might not get it (:

Really well done. Eventful and unique take on the Western genre. If you’re expecting a “Cinematic Donut” like that of any given explosion-led franchise, seek seek the catalogue of Michael Bay, as this film actually says something with its 2 hours of runtime.
