Ron K Turk 183 is loosely based on NYC's own TAKI 183! That alone is a reason to watch this film. A city employee *fire fighter denied benefits when saving a little girl in a fire because he was off duty. City denies benefits and to the rescue he's baby bro graffiti writer Turk 182 sticking it to Mayor Taylor (could he be the helicopter taking tennis loving Mayor Dinkins aka the men's room attendant) who knows but it's a feel good underdog takes down the system. And the graffiti proof trains suck and don't work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Turk 182! is the story of a young man named Jimmy (Timothy Hutton) who goes to City Hall when his brother, a firefighter named Terrence (Turk) is injured in the line of duty and the city won't help him. The problem is, Terrence was drinking at a local pub before he rescued a young girl from a burning building. After the Mayor dismisses Jimmy's plea for help, Jimmy decides to get even and becomes a cult hero for the city of New York. Ok, so the film is not what one would call perfect, but it is extremely entertaining and the relationship between Jimmy and Terrence (Robert Urich) is sweet. Kim Catrall is good as the love interest of Jimmy. This is one of those films that doesn't get the love it deserves and although it is often described as forgotten, it has inspired dozens of twitter handles. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member vastly underrated gem Biting satire if Lumet had directed it would be considered a great film As it stands Bob Clark does a great job and all the performances are great Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/14/18 Full Review Audience Member The message isn't executed in the best way, but this kind of entertainment should be taken lightly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this movie. It's a great non violent reaction to social injustice. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I understood the whole idea in this film about government not taking care of the people in our country, but after watching all these crazy antics Jimmy does in the movie it doesn't seem as important as him becoming a folk hero. So I think this movie was starting out good, but kinda got lost, so it's not the best. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
