Perry Norton Film Threat Unconditional reminds us that life is short and doesn’t provide endless opportunities to get it right, with a cast who most certainly are getting it right as reluctant but encouraging paragons of the best in human kindness. Rated: 7/10 Sep 8, 2023 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Unconditional is an informative and deeply moving documentary about people with serious medical issues and their family caregivers. [It's] made all the more personal because Unconditional director Richard Lui shares his own intimate story as a caregiver. May 15, 2023 Full Review Andrea Beach Common Sense Media Following both the progression of people with disabilities and how their caregivers cope adds unneeded length, and takes focus away from mental health and puts it instead on how families change over time. Patty L Our mother passed away last July. It was a brutal year, long struggle with lots of tears. You do everything you can to help them… To save them… It's one step forward two steps back… Sometimes it feels like you're trying to hold water in a sieve… You're always hoping for the best. You savor every moment and kind of dread the future, but try to stay in the moment to help them live the best days of the life they have left… I found this movie, so very cathartic and rooting for everybody… I highly recommend it. If you haven't gone through something like this at one point in your life, you probably will. This was very cathartic and a very heartfelt movie.
