the writers forgot what makes the venom movies fun: the relationship between eddie and venom. we focused too much on an unnecessary area 51 plot, and spent no time with our main characters

This movie missed on nearly all levels. The disjointed, uninspired, and anticlimactic plot couldn’t be saved by Tom Hardy and his alien symbiote’s typically humerous “Thelma & Louise” banter beyond the first third. What a missed opportunity to leverage the Marvel multiverse and incorporate THE premier Sony-owned character to have a Deadpool & Wolverine-like team-up movie with any of the previous Spider-Men (if you couldn’t get Tom Holland). Hell, give me Andrew Garfield and you still would’ve made something more entertaining and integrated into the fabric of what makes Marvel movies so enjoyable: the interconnected web of characters and progression of stories that came before. Unfortunately, this movie will end up in the deepest and darkest menus of Marvel’s digital streaming catalog, just like its not so main villain, never to be seen (or dance) again.
