Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times An unremarkable crime tale, one whose plot often feels more the stuff of a brash one-hour TV procedural than a two-hour feature film. Sep 24, 2015 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times "Veteran" is amusing throughout, even if the funny scenes are more subdued or go on a beat or two longer than American viewers are used to. Sep 17, 2015 Full Review Andrew Daley One Room With A View This is the heart of Korean action films; fun, breathtaking, and a pleasure to watch. Rated: 4/5 Apr 17, 2019 Full Review Alberto Abuín Espinof A film that saves the best for the last, going from being a detective comedy to drama. [Full review in Spanish] Oct 21, 2016 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post While Veteran may resemble dozens of other recent South Korean thrillers, ... Ryoo imbues his film with a style and swagger all its own. Rated: 4/5 Apr 6, 2016 Full Review Diva Velez TheDivaReview.com An exceptional cast, a tight, sharp script with perfect rhythm, rip-roaring comedy, and of course, the exciting action we've come to expect from director Ryoo Seung-wan, makes Veteran an excellent time at the movies. acsdoug D I've become a fan of Korean cop dramas but this one just didn't cut it for me. The cheesy comedy bits led me to believe that everything will turn out okay and the good guys were never in any real danger. Good chase scene at the end though. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/24 Full Review C H A highly exciting movie with violence, snappy humour, great performances in all areas. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Late R Overly long; a thin, generic plot; and a mixing of genres that hasn't quite been done right makes ‘Veteran' a little bit of a slog to get through at times. Nevertheless, there are also just enough times where it gets it does get it right, thanks in great part to a fantastic cast and a general infectious energy. In short, there are some fun times, but it's mostly forgettable. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/22 Full Review Audience Member The best Korean movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member What an intense action movie! This one is a must watch! Well-screenplayed and well-directed! All the actors are great o their roles! Especially Yoo Ah In! He really made his character iconic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The character Jo Tae-oh in this movie is based on a true story. Unfortunately, these contents are the hidden dark inside of Korea. This movie captured the images well enough Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
