Audience Member This is an excellently observed, positive film, which left this reviewer weeping with emotion. The father/daughter relationship between Abbas and Nazli is beautifully portrayed. Abbas is not a despotic dictator, like the father in East Is East, and although Nazli is a typical headstrong teenager, she is also thoughtful and deeply concerned about her father. There are strong comic moments, including a bungled heist at the video store, a fashionable accessory to any film these days, and some innocent exchanges between the young lovers. Wings Of Glass is the debut feature by Reza Bagher, a first generation Swede. If there is criticism to be leveled at his film it is that the plot may be a little predictable and the ending too neatly tied up. Essentially a feel-good movie, it provides a positive message about integration and cultural differences. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Maybe the cutest movie Skarsgård has ever done! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a movie I watched solely for the drools. You know, drooling on the stud Alexander Skarsgård. I also wanted to get used to him speaking in his native language, as we so rarely hear it in True Blood. The movie turned out to be quite charming. Since I?m from Norway, I compare goofy Swedish movies with the lousy Norwegian ones. Swedish movies are so much better than anything we make! The characters in this movie were believable and sweet. The acting was good. The story felt real and close to our community. All in all, I?m happy I gave this movie a chance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is good..just to see how the things are betwen difrent pepole.Nazli, an 18 year old girl with Persian origin, tries to break away from her father who has decided that she should marry her older cousin. She falls in love with a Swedish guy, something that her father dislikes and tries to prevent. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A young woman is torn between her father's culture and her desire to make her own life in this drama. Nazil (Sara Sommerfeld) and Mahin (Aminah Al-Fakin) are two teenage girls growing up in Sweden under the watchful eye of their Iranian-born father, Abbas (Said Oveissi). Abbas is proud of his Iranian heritage and tries to instill in his daughters a respect for their history, but Nazil and Mahin feel more comfortable with Sweden's relatively relaxed cultural mores.
