Steve D A goofy good time with a strong lead. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw this on original release in the theater at Fort Bliss, El Paso TX. Absolutely loved it! Still have the soundtrack to this day. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I am a Native Texan and I do find this film relatively funny. Given that I was born after the controversial filming of this minor comedy, you have to appreciate what Jerry Paris was able to achieve. Is it the funniest film ever? No but it will definitely put a smile on your face. Add to it a great soundtrack by the underrated Hugo Montenegro and a blistering guest appearance by Al Hirt on the "Viva Max March". Ustinov has never been dull in anything and John Astin is...well John Astin. Many apologies to those Texans who felt offended by the production but they should have seen the final product. A good way to spend 93 minutes on a rainy day. Plus Jonathan Winters is always worth watching. Love the password and counter-password. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This hidden comic movie about a modern day renegade Mexican army regiment retaking The Alamo is a relatively unknown gem. Once again Peter Ustinov gives his best, and if Disney didn't have their stamp all over it, it may have attracted more acclaim.
