Marcin M @RT02802734 6h Despite its flaws, I enjoyed this science fiction film. SPOILER ALERT Could the clairvoyant, Janet, have unintentionally sealed the crew's fate? Although her mental projection appears brief to the viewer, it was nearly permanent for the crew. Her presence consumed oxygen and added mass during engine burns, explaining the constant navigation errors. Utilizing her abilities in space was unprecedented and resulted in this tragic anomaly. Even though she physically boarded the ship only after it was discovered empty, her mental presence affected the entire journey. In the finale, an armed Paul tells Janet she projected herself too deeply. When she calls for extraction, Paul realizes the outcome is fixed: the ship must arrive empty. Understanding that she is the unintended cause of their misfortune, he kills her in anger, likely intending to throw himself into the vacuum of space afterwards. See more Read all reviews
