Claudio C @Claudio666 Oct 27 Wasted (2006) A Farewell That Goes Nowhere (12,016 – 26 Oct 2025– by Claudio Carvalho) In 1996, in North Valley, Mitch (Kip Pardue) returns to his hometown for the funeral of his high-school friend Bender, who drowned in a river. Mitch meets his friend Stan (Eddie Kaye Thomas), who is a nice, smart and funny guy that only is able to be friend of his crushes Amber (Alexandra Holden) and Kelly (Marisa Coughlan), and the reckless drug user Dixon (Josh Cooke). They spend the weekend together drinking, bowling, going to the football and Mitch dates the high-school girl Katie (Kaley Cuoco) and sees a couple of old friends from high school. “Wasted” (2006) is a movie with the story of the farewell to an old friend that goes nowhere. The plot is limited to the reunion of a twenty-and-something-year-old Mitch with his old high school friends. One of them, Stan, is a guy that girls like but do not let him get into their pants. The other, Dixon, grieves the death of Bender more than the others since they were together when Bender jumped from a rock into the river, where he drowned. In the end, watching “Waste” is a waste of time.My vote is five. The story isn't particularly original, but it is well enough done. There are too many scenes that drag though. It's not bad, but not exactly good either. See more 12/24/2012 compelling but mediocre. See more 11/29/2011 it was ok some boring parts but some funny parts See more 06/05/2011 Watched it by mistake thinking it was the 2002 Wasted. The 2002 Wasted is the one about heroin addiction. It was amazing. This is not that movie... That being said, it wasn't horrible. It was another indie-feeling hopeless film. After high school everyone seems to lose their purpose. The end is kind of just stops as well. There isn't a true resolution to anything. See more 06/24/2010 Not bad for a straight to DVD... Josh Cooke gave an impressive performance as the lead character, Dixon, plagued by his friend's death. It was 4:30 in the morning, but I got wrapped up in the story and characters pretty well. I love a good 'this town sucks and shitty things happen but fuck it it's all we got so whatever' type of movies. See more Read all reviews
