Audience Member Stanley Price has dammed the water upstream for his mining operation, and then sends it off on a new course. This means the small ranchers in the valley have no water. Dorothy Page fights him in court, speaking of inalienable and well-established rights; Price's legal strategy is to burn their houses. With only Dave O'Brien and Vince Barnett to help her, can she prevail? Yes, I recommend this one James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas December 20, 2022 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review Audience Member Boy, considering this was a debut for Dorothy Page as Grand National's new gimmick - a singing cowgirl - you'd think there'd be more Dorothy Page in it??? I felt like she was barely in this movie, even the cows got more screen time. Another unnecessarily vicious and aggro set of neighbors who build a dam to steal all water from Dorothy's dad's ranch. To my delight, Dorothy insists they sue instead of taking any sort of violent revenge out on them. (Heck yeah, a cowboy movie about litigation! That's what we're all here for!) And she does sue, but her neighbors proceed to terrorize the rest of their neighbors from testifying. Oh right, and they kill her dad(!!!) which doesn't seem to get addressed in court at all! There were witnesses godamnit! Well, the court case gets thrown out because nobody shows up and Dorothy comes up with another plan - blow a hole in the hill on her land so the water in the dam just pours on out back to her. Pretty smart and legal, killin' it Dorothy. Of course her vicious neighbors proceed to shoot at her and her crew but they manage to blow up the hill anyhow when one of their bodies falls on the ignition switch. The movie itself is unfortunately pretty boring right until literally the last 10 minutes. Nice to see Dorothy get to kill a couple guys and then lasso her love-interest out of the river once the place starts to flood. Oh, she also woos him through having a nice voice and I appreciate that that's what it took for him to fall for her. He's got other reasons too. He wants to pressure cowboys off their land to buy it for himself! Lady cowgirl won't have it. She won't stoop to violence, so she takes them to court. When that doesn't resolve anything, THEN they bring out the guns. So let that be a lesson to you. Also contains some songs, about the only thing the lady does in this. (All the action shots are done by da men) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
