Yash B This Scorsese short film just didn't do it for me. I could see what kind of tone he was going for and there are elements that were promising. I just didn't find myself very engaged with it for the short 10 minutes it ran for. I still think it is fascinating to watch such a legendary filmmaker's early work, but I don't think this is among the best in that category of movies. Overall, this one didn't really resonate with me, but there is some fascinating things on display. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Artistic for the director's age and for the time it was filmed. You can see how he uses the camera to tell his story almost just like his feature films. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member An Experiment In The Practice Of Film-Making..Rather Than A Piece Of Entertainment. Having Mr Scorsese's Name Upon It Adds The Necessary Kudos.. Not Much Mire Tha That Tho. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny and bizarre to the bone, Martin Scorsese's student film shows early signs of the same sort of coked-up frenzy 'The Wolf of Wall Street' would fifty years later. An enjoyable, wacky and very innovative short. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Obviously early work, but good ideas. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member If you want to see a student film that really showcases a man with talent...Martin Scorsese's first effort really does just that. It is a simple little comedy about a man who is writer (you know, he writes things) who becomes fixated with this picture. It is goofy, well shot, and really has enough energy, that student films usually lack. I've seen plenty of early efforts from Directors I admire, but this was one of the best I've seen.
