Ram L I’m sure not all folks will enjoy the absence of a solid plot. Things aren’t explained, reality and “how-comes” are abandoned in places, events happen for no reason—but I thought the casual way the movie proceeds—with a “we don’t care” attitude—is brilliant. Monet Mazur is as true to her character as she is gorgeous; the romantic moments without a tinge of sappiness are a treat; and the combination of unpredictability and predictability is awesome. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/03/24 Full Review Erin M Great and fun movie about naive good guy falling in love with a wild girl who has yet to overcome her past! Some elements like the guy's watch, were really well thought out and helped tie the movie together! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review victor o I have seen Monet Mazur around in several TV shows and movies and I see a great looking woman but also a woman with great potential, but she mostly plays roles that are too small or weak. But I saw this movie advertised and I was hoping for the best but in the end, I was more amazed than I could have ever been. I knew she had it in her. James is an upstanding student at a New York state boarding school where a rumor is flying of a mysterious WhirlyGirl who is coming to the school. The boarding school is an all-boys academy where the sight of a woman gets a teenaged boy excited but this WhirlyGirl is something special as the boys prepare for her arrival. James helps out his friends in getting the WhirlyGirl on campus without being caught by the school faculty. She arrives and she sets these boys libidos into overdrive. The WhirlyGirl is a burlesque dancer that makes her money dancing at parties, bars, fraternities, basically, any venue that can entertain a man or in this case boys for a reasonable amount. Whether an involuntary act or on purpose, she steals James' watch, a final gift from his dead father. He learns that she lives in New York City and from there he begins to know more about the WhirlyGirl that takes him on a journey of adventure and dare it to be mentioned, love. He learns her true name, Alice, and that she is a woman with a heart of gold but forced to rely upon her body to make money and endures the humiliation of being lusted by every man she meets. James' devotion to her gets him into trouble to the point that it almost ruins him, but he never relents in treating her with the decency and love that she deserves to the very end. I always knew that Monet Mazur had a great talent as an actress, she has got the looks, but I have not seen her do anything worthwhile until I saw this movie. Like Scent of a Woman in that, a young boy is charmed by an adult that has endured the horrors of what the world can bring but is reminded of the joys. Instead of a blind, angry Army colonel, it is a gorgeous but cynical dancer. Julian Morris was good in his part as well, playing the young man as a good man in the making and not a pervert as he sees Alice as a real person behind her great looks, something all men must aspire to when seeking a woman. A good movie, well worth watching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Unappealing film, it just makes no sense, and you really don't care to ever figure it out. Poorly developed characters, also characters you don't care about. Stupid. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A kinda amateurish debut by Jim Wilson...but I actually don't blame him for this movie's failure...not all by himself. The writing is BUTT, the cast is OKAY (with the expection of Daniel Franzese) And the plot is :rotten: ....well the script prolly should have been used as a TV episode for Saved By The Bell, rather than a 5 million dollar movie. Lastly, what's up with the R rating... Nudity and Language?! Give me a F'ing break, this is a "titty-less" movie...ABOUT A STRIPPER.
