Daniel Franzese
Brooklyn-born, Florida-raised actor Daniel Franzese paid his dues with low-rent retail work in such venues as Blockbuster Video and Whole Foods Market, before achieving his big break in show business practically overnight with the Lindsay Lohan comedy "Mean Girls" (2004). As Damian, a flamboyant and effeminate classmate of Lohan's character, Franzese delivered a hefty dose of comic relief and made a standout impression among the sizeable cast. He did most of his additional early work in New York-based indie pictures, among them "Bully" (2001), "Party Monster" (2003) and "Stateside" (2004). After he relocated to Los Angeles, notable projects included the drug-dealing saga "Bristol Boys" (2006), the offbeat coming of age tale "Whirlygirl" (2006) and the grisly grindhouse remake "I Spit on Your Grave" (2010); he also had a bit part in a big budget studio picture, Steven Spielberg's sci-fi epic "The War of the Worlds" (2005). When not on camera, Franzese devoted much of his time to art, creating a series of arresting and eye-catching mixed media installations, a number of which investigate the phenomenon of celebrity from multiple angles. In 2015, Franzese joined the second season cast of HBO's LGBT-themed comedy-drama series "Looking" (HBO 2014-15), portraying the character of Eddie. After that series ended with the feature-length wrap-up "Looking: The Movie" (HBO 2016), Franzese moved on to co-star in teen drama "Recovery Road" (Freeform 2016) and legal drama "Conviction" (ABC 2016- ).
