Walter W @RT71869229 3d Emily Blunts "Girl" accepts a lift from another college student "Guy" (Ashton Holmes) on a Christmas holidays break and together they drive home Chris Rea style. Unfortunately they take an unplanned detour on route 606, a deserted snowbound road in "Wind Chill" (2007). After they are run off the road and crash their car they see dead people like in a Bruce Willis film. "Wind Chill" didn’t fulfil its potential. The second and third acts just unravel in the snow while some useless time references randomly flash on the screen in this nightmare before Christmas. It had some pedigree with Blunt on screen, plus George Clooney and Steve Soderbergh as EP’s, which gave me false hope. Director Gregory Jacob should stay in his lane as a successful producer. "Wind Chill" is not an epic fail, just another dumb and dumber supernatural horror movie streaming on Netflix. There are worse things than dying, but I didn’t know it would be spending 91 minutes watching this poor attempt at a ghost story. See more Kashgar A @AllFunAndGames 6d Saw this when it first came out but basically forgotten all about it and its storyline. It bears up reasonably well, although the technology, special effects and social constructs are well dated. What I’d forgotten is just how sad it is. Definitely worth a rewatch, it’s a good old fashioned ghost story and they could’ve leaned into that aspect even more. See more e l @RT12611919 Dec 8 This is a great movie, but SPOILER ALERT, it is a very sad movie. It will ruin Brenda Lee's Rockin Around the Christmas Tree for you as well. It's actually really good, and the acting is amazing. The plot is pretty good too, and there are several hints at the beginning of the movie that are pretty good. Some of the stuff is a little silly, like SPOILER ALERT her climbing the pole, but at the point where she is, one can understand how desperate she is. Anyway, it is a great movie, but very, very sad. It is not funny, not stupid, and there is nothing to laugh at. It is Christmas-themed, so extra sad. You identify with the characters, and I was remembering a winter ride where people carpooled towards Boston and we dropped someone off in a rural area, had some flashbacks. The mood is done well, the scenery is really good, all the details are well thought out. Emily Blunt and Ashton Holmes do such a good job! Again, it's a sad movie. Watch it for a sad Christmas horror movie. See more Bill T. @btreakle Nov 21 Wind chill:is a movie starring Emily Blunt from 2007. This story is about a boy and a girl we’re riding together in sub freezing weather and the boy for whatever reason decides to take what he says is a shortcut to the young girl’s home then they are run off the road by a hit and run driver and soon discovered that their shortcut actually is the wrong way to have gone. And this is their story as it unfolds and soon find themselves in a above all from 1953 were a similar accident had taken place. I don’t recommend this film for children under 14 but I do recommend to anybody that loves Emily Blunt. I give this film a 7 out of 10 stars I enjoyed it very much.
