      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Wine Country's comedy might not be quite as robust as fans of this ensemble will expect, but it's got sweetness on the nose and a nicely balanced finish.

Purple C Wow, had to turn this off after 30 minutes. These former SNL ladies are way past their prime but don't seem to realize it. This movie was worse than watching paint dry. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/24 Full Review Gareth v A few laugh out moments, but for the most this is a flat and predictable movie. What saves this movie from being a stinker is the chemistry between the cast/characters. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Alec B I hope everyone involved was well paid and enjoyed their little vacation. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Fun and funny w great ensemble cast. Great if you're in need of a a laugh!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Taylor D So me and my friend emma watch this film, thought it had good potential to be amazing. however, our girl melissa mccarthy should have been in there. her energy was missed and we feel as though she would have really contributed to this film. P.S. we were kinda being iconic because we drank some wine while watching this movie "wine country" ha ha ha ha but great cast tho they did awesome but fr we want melissa Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review Malachi M An all-star cast reduced to bland archetypes. Hundreds of jokes and almost all of them fell flat. I also felt like some characters had deeper plots that were cut for time, leaving their random monologues to feel totally out of place. Roxana Hadadi Pajiba In Wine Country, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, and Emily Spivey all seem to be having a blast, but the resultant movie is unfunny and forgettable. May 27, 2019 Full Review Anna Leszkiewicz New Statesman All in all, it's a drinkable, if at times indulgent, affair. May 15, 2019 Full Review Leah Pickett Chicago Reader A curious letdown. May 14, 2019 Full Review Elizabeth Garcia But Why Tho? A Geek Community Wine Country is a decent look at female friendship but it has a lot of flaws. Rated: 5/10 Jan 21, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault It’s a real comfort-food movie, and that’s apparently all Poehler and her team wanted to make. Don’t they deserve to? Don’t we deserve to have one? Rated: B Aug 24, 2022 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut Amy Poehler’s Wine Country has its flaws, but also has something Hollywood needs to make more of: Female-centric films that are smart, genuine, and offer something real.
