Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly Rated: D Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Parts of it are funny, parts of it are moving, and parts of it are uncomfortable and off-putting. It's not a jolly night out at the movies. My first reaction, frankly, was that I wasn't enjoying myself. Then I analyzed that feeling. Rated: 3/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Entertainment Weekly Rated: D May 11, 1990 Full Review Terry Francis Southern Voice (Atlanta) Working with director John Boskovich and cinematographer Joseph Yacoe, Sandra Bernhardt adapts her one-woman New York show for the screen and the result is pungent, socially alert satire. Rated: 4/4 May 9, 2023 Full Review Adrianna Alty Gay Community News (Boston) An enjoyable and varied parody/celebration of pop culture. Sep 21, 2022 Full Review Ryan Murphy Miami Herald The conclusion of Sandra Bernhard's Without You I'm Nothing is one of the rarest, strangest film finishes in the history of the medium. Audience Member "F**k, Sandra Bernhard"! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member It's simple: you'll either love it or hate it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Sandra Bernhard is interesting but this film is less so. Sometimes the full extent of a personality can be lost in the hands of a lesser biographer and I'm not sure that Boskovich succeeds here despite the fact that Bernhard co-wrote this piece. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Bernhard's performance here is pretty unique - a weird mix of storytelling/character performance/beat poetry that I haven't really seen before (although I do get the sense that both Buddy Cole and Hedwig borrowed some from her). But too often the sequences fall flat - it's either unclear what she's satirizing exactly (maybe I'm not of the right generation) or it's hitting too many of the same notes she's already hit. And even if the more pretentious elements are just a put-on, that doesn't make them cohere any better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The Lady that inspired me to put pen to paper! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A show like those I am use to see from Joey Arias and Sherry Vine. It must be New York entertainment, but with a little bit more taste. The problem is that I don't know if more taste is a plus? Sherry Vine: "Did you say More or did you say Whore?" Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Read all reviews
