Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine A corny outdoor melodrama, with a fake "Saskatchewan" locale, starring Susan Hayward as a farm widow with a wide gamut of emotional troubles. Rating: poor. Oct 17, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

David D Entertaining! A standard 1959 western for the time. Presentism has no place in reviewing movies as another reviewer chose to do... This movie by no means is corny. Susan Hayworth and Steven Boyd, with their supporting cast do a great job. Well filmed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Audience Member The scenery is lovely and well shot. I always tend to like Susan Hayward's acting. This, however, is a film that mostly belongs to Stephen Boyd. The film fails to leave a good taste. Boyd's character is hot tempered and physically abusive to Hayward and her son. He mocks the son as being girlish, and fights with everyone. So why does the filmmakers what the audience to cheer this couple on, so they will stay together? It just doesn't work in today's world, and it should work for the world of 1959 either. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Standard drama was hardly a worthy follow up to Susan's Oscar winning performance in I Want to Live! The story is lacking in any great dramatic thrust but it's beautifully shot and professional done. But the whole thing is average. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member tale of a single mom and a ranch she tries to keep/run. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review ashley h Woman Obsessed is an amazing film. It is set in a beautiful country. Susan Hayward gives an excellent performance.
