Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com As a dance movie, Work It moves just fine. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 7, 2020 Full Review Richard Lawson Vanity Fair Work It is an agreeable enough pastiche, clearly aware of its influences and not trying to pretend that it's come up with these steps all on its own. Aug 7, 2020 Full Review Kate Erbland indieWire Anyone who has seen even one film centered on high schoolers dancing it up and making their way in the world ("Step Up," "Bring It On," "Save the Last Dance," and the like) will know exactly where "Work It" is going. Rated: C+ Aug 7, 2020 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Work It is a zippy teenage romp about chosen family. Sep 30, 2022 Full Review Natasha Alvar Cultured Vultures Despite the lackluster second act, the film's talented cast more than makes up for the movie's shortcomings. It radiates a certain joie de vivre, and we could use more of that in 2020. Rated: 6.5/10 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Lauren Veneziani DC Film Girl Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy and Jordan Fisher give excellent performances in this movie about dance, passion and following your heart. Audience Member While it offers nothing groundbreaking either in music or comedy, it makes up for it with a refreshingly light-hearted tone, a humorous underdog's character arc and a catchy soundtrack with dance routines to match. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Luca A Great movie, trash ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Audience Member director Laura Teruso presents another dance flick in the lines of 'Feel the Beat', 'Step Up', and 'Feel the Noise' it's Sabrina Carpenter's second feature film debuting on the Netflix streaming service starring along 'Liv and Maddie's Jordan Fisher, Keynian Lonsdale of 'Flash' fame and newcomer Liza Koshy Quinn Ackerman has spent her whole life dedicated to her studies in computer science and building her resume to get into the best colleges Her father went to Duke University and her mom has been working two jobs to support her so when she goes to her interview it backfires but she has a plan... Quinn plans to enter the Work It dance competition and build a name for herself showing she has the skills even if everyone else doesn't see it the Thunderbirds dance team think they're all that but Quinn along with her buddy Jas are willing to build their own team to prove them wrong she even gets teaching from a professional dancer Jake Taylor who suffered a knee injury, Quinn might actually pick up a few things she never knew not to mention fall in love with not only Jake but with dancing itself next to Sabrina Carpenter's magnetic performance the movie has a large array of impressive tunes and brilliantly choreographed dance numbers you can't dance by reading a book, we can't always be in control in everything, sometimes you have to let your body, heart and soul drive you to do what's exciting, you don't have to listen to the beat of your heart you just have to feel it, dancers are the athletes of the heart, and overall if you really want something you have to work it Carpenter succeeds tremendously again in a leading role with a fine collection of music tracks, good laughs, and expertly-done dances lack of originality aside this is another one of my favorite Netflix movies for sure! Não me agradou. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/02/23 Full Review Kristen T Super cute! Each of the individual characters really brought life to the movie, and the overall script was well done! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Audience Member All the time a dance movie comes out that tops the last one Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
